Lovillo Collins obituary

Sharon Springs - Lovillo W. Collins, 84, of Montgomery Street cherry Valley and formerly of Sharon Springs, died Tuesday, March 14, 1989 in Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown.
He was born September 28, 1904 in Sharon Springs, the son of Charles and Anna VanSchaick Collins. He married Amelia Alexander, who survives on September 28, 1929 in Cherry Valley.
A lifelong area resident, he was a retired farmer and former employee of the Lipe Feed Co., Sharon Springs. More recently he had worked at the Central National Bank in Cherry Valley. For more than 50 years he had been a member of F & A.m. Lodge 624, Sharon Springs. He was also a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Leesville and a trustee of the Sharon Cemetery, Sharon Springs.
Surviving besides his wife, are three daughters, Mrs. Tina Miller of Cooperstown, Mrs. Phyllis Duffy of Endicott and Mrs. Harriett Geywits of Richfield, nine grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 1989 in ST. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Leesville with the Rev. Eugene Umberger officiating. Burial will be in Sharon Cemetery.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Lappeus Funeral Home, Sharon Springs where a Masonic Service will be held Friday evening at 7:00.
