Martha Drumm Wetsel obituary
Mrs. Martha Drumm Wetsel
December 8, 1932
Again Death's messenger has entered a home and taken from us a dear mother in the passing of Mrs. Martha Drumm Wetsel, relict of the late D. H. Wetsel whom she survived nearly two years. After a long journey on life's stage she has entered that land of eternal rest and peace.
Sixty-four years ago she was united in marriage to Mr. Wetsel and together they built up a home that will be remembered by old and young for ages to come as a home where rich and poor alike were ever welcome. To her children she endeavored to teach the true Christian spirit which she herself possessed and has lived to see them stand ready to make her last days with us as pleasant as possible and has been very tenderly cared for by her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. DeGroff and grandson and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Caryl DeGroff for the past several years and now she has crossed the Bar where loved ones were waiting with hands extended to welcome her to that eternal home.
She is survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren who deeply mourn her passing.
Dearest grandma is gone
Her stories are down
We have bid her our last farewell
Yes, each and every one.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. P. I. Enders, Mrs. Lula Carr, Mrs, E. J. DeGroff and Mrs. Sarah Larkin, also two sons, Frank R. Wetsel of Carlisle and Clarence Wetsel of Grosvenor Corners.
Funeral was held at her late home Tuesday at 2 p. m. Burial in Sloansville cemetery.
