NYFingerLakes-L information and link page
NYFingerLakes-L is a discussion list for researching Cayuga, Ontario, Schuyler, Seneca, Tioga, Tompkins, Wayne and Yates Counties. While the list is primarily a genealogical research tool, discussions also include lore and memories of the Finger Lakes area.
List subscribers are affectionately referred to as "FLakes" - an abbreviated version of the list name and not in any way a reflection on our ancestors or our mental capacities.
To subscribe to NYFingerLakes-L, please send a message to NYFingerLakes-Lemail@example.com
with just the word "subscribe" (no quotes) in the body of the message. Please turn off signature files and do not add anything else. The list mode brings you individual messages as they are sent. At times the list is "high traffic".
If you would prefer to receive your messages in a digest format, please send a message to NYFingerLakes-Dfirstname.lastname@example.org with just the word "subscribe" (no quotes) in the body of the message. Please turn off signature files and do not add anything else. The digest mode brings you a group of messages in one mailing.
