This cemetery according to the records found in the Seneca County Clerk's Office was not incorporated until July 26, 1906, when the descendants of the early settlers met at the school house opposite the cemetery and considered the necessity of forming a cemetery association to be known as the Southwick Cemetery Association. No marker for the grave of Purchase Roberts who died 1808, was the first deacon of the Junius Presbyterian Church, and the village blacksmith. The first burial in the town of Junius was that of Mrs. Sampson on lot # 15 west of that section spoken of as Dublin.

"My greatgrandfather was not in the listing. This is what the stone says:
Burckley
Emma L.Benjamin F.
1880-1939 1875- 19

He did die in 1965 but it is not engraved on the stone. I hope to be able to remedy that by next summer . I have no idea who Emma is . His wife was Grace and she is buried in Maple Grove Cemetery in Galen, Wayne Co. NY ."
