"On the Bennett Farms at Howard NY, on the Stephens Gulch road to Canisteo, there was an old cemetery which they have plowed up. According to the late Rose McKibben of Hornell, a Samuel Criswell, a Rev War Soldier was Buried there and his daughter Betsey Armstrong and her husband James. The Bennett farm was owned by the Dolbe family before purchase by the Bennetts. The information below is from a family source"

12 of the Dolbe children buried here also who most likely died of black Diptheria in 1824

According to dates on old stones in old cemeteries visited, many died early in life from black diptheria here.
