Several people assisted in the effort to digitize these diaries and provide them to various Zimmer family members and to historical societies in upstate New York. I would especially like to thank my sister-in-law, Lee Wiley Zimmer, who, while the original diaries were briefly in her possession many years ago, laboriously copied each of the entries by hand. Without her extraordinary effort, this work would not have been possible. Moreover, she provided extended and valuable assistance in proofing drafts. My wife, Cynthia Swebilius Zimmer, spent many long hours over a number of months dictating each of the entries and then she expended an enormous amount of time in proofing the final copy. Without her loving and unstinting efforts, this work could not have been consummated. My cousin, Carl L. Zimmer, is also to be commended for his efforts with some of the proofing and with the proper spelling of some of the surnames in the diaries. Any mistakes remaining are, of course, my responsibility.

*Note: Misc. Information is found at the end of many of the diaries.
In a e-mail from Cliff to me dated: Dec. 18, 1999:
...."Not only do you have my permission to post Lon and Lottie' s diaries, but I encourage you to do so. By your effort, 184 families may learn something about their ancestors. Any disclaimers you need from me, you have. " ....I have no problem with your listing my e-mail address, but I doubt I can contribute any more to the information contained in the diary."
