Allen Rice Sr. was born on 28 May 1914 in Gouverneur, St. Lawrence, NY.
He died on 17 May 2001 in Gouverneur, St. Lawrence, NY. His obituary

Gouverneur. Robert A. Rice Sr., 86, of 1599 Route 11, died Thursday at his home.
Mr. Rice began his working life with the Civilian Conservation Corps
at Benson Mines. He then was an industrial driller until 1945 at the Puget Sound
Navy Yard, Bremerton, Wash. He owned and operated a dairy farm in Spragueville
from 1945 to 1954, and worked at St. Joe Mineral and Gouverneur Talc Co., Balmat,
from 1955 until his retirement in 1976. After leaving his farm he moved to Main
Street, Richville, until 1981, then moved to Hobe Sound, Fla., and returned to
the north country in 1988. He had also run a dog grooming business from 1976
to 1981.
Born May 28, 1914, in Gouverneur, son of Allen and Mary Bassett Rice,
he graduated from Gouverneur High School in 1932.
He married Blanche Morse on May 16, 1934, in Hermon. The marriage ended
in divorce. He married Marilyn Bassett on May 16, 1955, in Emmitsburg, Md. That
marriage ended in divorce. He married Geneva Blair Jones on April 8, 1989, in
Richville.
Mr. Rice was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Gouverneur, a former
member of the Richville Fire Department, an exempt Gouverneur firefighter, a
50-year fan of the St. Lawrence University hockey team, and a longtime member
of the SLU Skating Saints Hockey Team Booster Club. He was an avid golfer and
enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
Surviving besides his wife are two daughters and a son-in-law, Holly
and Landon Weaver, Richville, and Constance Rice, Antwerp; two sons, Stephen
A., Prattsville, Ala., and Robert "Pete" Jr., Watertown, 11 grandchildren
and 20 great-grandchildren.
Four brothers, Leon, Charles, Raymond and Wilbur, a sister Louise Hayden,
and a grandson died before him.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Green Funeral Home
with the Rev. James N. Meola officiating. The body was cremated.
There will be no calling hours.
Donations may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County, the Gouverneur
Fire Department or the Richville Fire Department. He was cremated. Robert
Allen Rice Sr. and Blanche R. Morse were married on 16 May 1934 in Hermon, St.
Lawrence, NY. They were divorced. Blanche
R. Morse (daughter of George Morse and Electa ___) was born on 20 Aug 1916
in Parishville, St. Lawrence, NY. She died on 29 Oct 1994 in Gouverneur,
St. Lawrence, NY. Her obituary appeared on 30 Oct 1994 in the Watertown
Daily Times of Watertown, Jefferson, NY, as follows: Blanche
M. Ingram Of Richville Dies At 78. Richville. Blanche M. Ingram, 78, of Richville,
died Saturday morning in Edward John Noble Hospital, Gouverneur, where she had
been a patient since Monday.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur,
with the Rev. Allan Ferguson, pastor of the Gouverneur United Methodist Church,
officiating. Burial will be in Hermon Cemetery.
Calling hours will be private. Donations may be made to the Muscular
Dystrophy Association, the Children's Miracle Network, Watertown, or Boys Town
U.S.A., Nebraska.
Surviving are her husband, Royal; three daughters, Connie Rice, Clay,
Kimberly, Orlando, Fla., and Sue-Lynn, at home; a son, Robert "Pete"
Rice Jr., Carthage; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; five sisters,
Ethal Morse and Freda Lovely, both of Ogdensburg, Ada Storer, North Carolina,
Laura Greenwood, Canton, and Isabelle Perkins, Potsdam; a brother, Howard Morse,
Gouverneur, and several nieces and nephews.
A grandson, two sisters, Florence Burnett and Hazel Randall, and three
brothers, George and Fred Morse and Leroy Santima died before her. Her brother,
Leroy, was killed during the Normandy Invasion.
Born Aug. 20, 1916, in Parishville, a daughter of George and Electa
Morse, she attended Potsdam area schools.
A marriage to Robert Rice Sr. ended in divorce. She later married Royal
J. Ingram July 31, 1955, at the Gouverneur United Methodist Church with the Rev.
William Woods officiating.
Mr. and Mrs. Ingram lived in Spragueville until moving to Richville
in 1969.
A homemaker, Mrs. Ingram taught sewing for the 4-H Club and was a member
of the Gouverneur Episcopal Church, the Gouverneur Grange and the Rebekah Lodge.
She was buried in Hermon cemetery, Hermon, St. Lawrence, NY. Also
seen as Blanche M. Robert Allen Rice Sr. and Blanche R. Morse had the following
