He died on 17 Jul 1985 in Antwerp, Jefferson, NY. His obituary appeared
on 21 Jul 1985 in the Advance News of Ogdensburg, St. Lawrence, NY, as follows:
"Robert R. Rose. Antwerp -- Funeral services for Robert R. Rose, 57, of
26 Van Buren St., Antwerp, were held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Moore-Green Funeral
Home in Antwerp with Rev. Kelly Kerr-Carpenter pastor of United Methodist Church,
officiating. Burial was in the Hillside Cemetery in Antwerp.
"Mr. Rose died at 3:46 p.m. Wednesday (July 17, 1985) of a heart attack
while at his home.
"Surviving are two sons, Stephen R. of Dallas, Texas, Ronny R. of Philadelphia,
N.Y.; two daughters, Mrs. Sally Witzel of Rochester, Mrs. John (Susan) Tomiel
of East Waterboro, Maine; two uncles; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren;
several cousins; three brothers, Harold of Tampa, Fla., Donald and Gerald, both
of Gouverneur. A brother, Kenneth, died June 11, 1984.
"He was born in the Town of Antwerp on Feb. 19, 1928, son of Roy F. and
Ethyl Smith Rose. He graduated from Antwerp High School and married Myrtle Middleton
with the marriage ending in separation. He was employed as a mechanic at Northrup
and Tucker's Garages and was a mechanic at Indian River Central School from 1958-1965.
"He graduated from Jefferson Community College in 1971 and Oswego State
University in 1973. He taught industrial arts in Pulaski before suffering from
ill health.
"He was a member of Antwerp Lodge 226 F&AM and was an exempt member
of the Antwerp Fire Department. He was also a trustee for the village of Antwerp.
"Memorial contributions may be made to the Antwerp Fire Department."

buried in Hillside cemetery, Antwerp, Jefferson, NY. Robert R. Rose
and Myrtle A. Middleton were married on 24 Jan 1948 in Antwerp, Jefferson, NY.
"Rose-Middleton Nuptials Held. Oxbow, Jan. 30.--Miss Myrtle A. Middleton,
Oxbow, daughter of James Middleton, Carthage, and Robert R. Rose, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Roy Rose, Oxbow, were married Saturday night at 8 in the Antwerp Methodist
church rectory. Rev. Roger Marmon officiated.
"Mr. and Mrs. Harold Reed of Antwerp were the couple's attendants.
"The bride wore an aqua suit with brown accessories and a corsage of
pink roses.
"The matron of honor chose a white wool dress with black accessories
and a corsage of red roses.
"Mrs. Rose was graduated from Antwerp High school in 1946. Mr. Rose was
also educated at Antwerp High school and is a laborer." They were separated.
