Died. Ball. In Gouverneur, Sept. 30, 1891, of pneumonia,
Mrs. Pamelia, wife of Rufus Ball and daughter of S.C. and Caroline Merritt, aged 35
years, 11 months and 15 days. She was born in Wegatchie and when a child came to
Gouverneur with her parents where she has always resided up to the time of her death.
All that medical aid could do for her was done, but of no avail, her time had come, and
she was fully reconciled to die feeling safe in Christ. She bid her parents, brothers,
sisters and friends good by, telling them to be good and she would meet them again
where parting is unknown. She was buried Friday in Riverside cemetery, Rev. S.T.
Dibble officiating. The funeral was largely attended. The stone cutters and quarry
men, fellow workers of Mr. Ball all turned out to attend her funeral as well as a large
number of aquaintences. Mrs. Ball was a kind wife, beloved by those who knew her.

son G.F. Rickerson. He served three years in the army. He leaves four sons and two
daughters to mourn his loss.
Died. Brant. At Emeryville, in the town of Fowler, on Friday
evening, Oct. 9, 1891, Mrs. Mary J., wife of Augustine Brant, aged 35 years, 9 months
and 28 days. Mrs. Brant was born in Lyonsdale, Lewis county, N.Y., Dec. 11, 1855. In
July of last year Mr. and Mrs. Brant and family moved to Emeryville where he is
engaged in the pulp business. On Sept. 15th last, a daughter, Mary was born to them,
but the little life was brief, the little one dying on Oct. 6th and the mother following three
days later. Four other children, two boys and two girls are left motherless. Besides her
husband, a father and five brothers are left to mourn for her who was taken so early
from her home and children. The funeral services were held at the church in Fowler on
Monday morning, Rev. Mr. Payne officiating; the interment being at Riverside cemetery,
Gouverneur.
