BROCK, Isaac J.
– Born in December 1827, in Pennsylvania, probably Pike County. Isaac married Rachel Almira STANTON and had at least three children: Walter (died in infancy), Chauncey (married Carrie King), and Mary E (married Jesse KNIGHT) Isaac served with the 16th REGIMENT HEAVY ARTILLERY during the Civil War. He was discharged in Alexandria, VA on August 1, 1865. He was disabled by rheumatic cough and disease of the lungs, liver, and kidney and received a pension for these disabilities. He died on October 3, 1904, in Forestburgh, NY. Isaac’s parents were Isaac BROCK Sr. and Maria. Isaac Sr. was either from Canada or Connecticut. Chauncey’s descendants eventually changed their name to BRODT.
