Attica Center Welsh Baptist Church Welsh Baptists erected this house of worship in 1864 in Attica Center, Wyoming County, New York. The Attica Center Welsh settlement began in the late 1840s when a number of Welsh families migrated from Oneida County in central New York. The Attica Welsh were also linked to the Cattaraugus Welsh Settlement in Freedom, New York, about 40 miles to the south, where there was also a Welsh Baptist church. Welsh influence had waned at the Attica Center church when a new church building replaced it in 1916. The old church building was moved to a nearby private residence.
