The
Patriot

Right out of History he came with a dash To plead his cause for freedom An there could be no clash, For we were there for him as he was for us, Liberty and freedom with all that is just. Our forebears had fought right along with him, Surely
no such fine uniforms, But standing tall and trim In their homespuns and knitted clothes, The best they could do -- And so fortunate to have on each foot A fairly sturdy shoe! For there was mud and cold and
misery for each But they stood together Till victory they could reach! |
There was heartbreak and horror As they stood their ground, But valiantly they persevered Until victory was found! Thank you, dear Hal, For it was courageous men like you Who helped to win those battles And who stood so strong and true. Loyalty and courage, you gave them all To our beloved country, answering its call. And the ultimate victory over tyranny's ills Helped to build us a nation Where dreams of Freedom are fulfilled! |
