Events• He graduated from Haverford College in 1890 in Haverford, Pennsylvania. He entered the college in 1886 and was the president of the athletic association. He won the 440-yard dash and the 100-yard dash. He was influential in building track on Walton Field which was named after him.
Haverford College is the oldest institution of higher education in North America with Quaker roots and one of the leading liberal arts colleges.• He arrived from Southampton, England on the S.S. Could he have been buried there?]• He was mentioned in an article in "The New Rochelle Pioneer" published on 11 Jan 1902 in New Rochelle, Westchester county, New York. 8 "...of No. 91 Manhattan avenue, Rochelle Park, was a native of Philadelphia and was graduated from Haverford College, near that city. He was thirty-one years old, six feet two inches tall. A widow and two children survive him. For a number of years Mr. Walton was manager of the Tinkham Bicycle Company of New York. A few years ago, when the bicycle business began to wane, he purchased a seat on the New York Stock Exchange, and was doing a prosperous business as a broker when he was killed. His office was at No. 30 Broad street. He was also a member of the New Rochelle Yacht Club."
