Westchester Chasseurs, Seventeenth Infantry

The Westchester Chasseurs came from the village of Port Chester and they enlisted for two years of service.
Captain Nelson B. Bartram, promoted to major November 2, 1861 and to lieutenant-colonel on June 20, 1862; mustered out with the regiment June 2, 1863
First Lieutenant John Vickers, promoted to captain
Second Lieutenant Charles Hilbert, promoted to captain
First Sergeant James Fox, promoted to second lieutenant, resigned in a few months.
Sergeant Thomas Beal - promoted to a commission August 3, 1862 and mustered out with the regiment as second lieutenant in the following year.
