- Civil War Enlistments from Eastchester— These records have been scanned and are available for viewing for free on the Virtual Archives web site of the Westchester County Archives. These records include the following information of interest to genealogists, viz., date and place of birth, and names of parents. See both Military Records I and Military Records II. They can be viewed two ways:
- a scan of the original hand-written registers in faded color, and
- a scan of the transcription in black and white.

- The Official Records of the War of the Rebellion — Cornell University, as part of their "Making of America" series, has put the ENTIRE -- over 60 volumes -- on the Internet!!! This series of volumes is commonly referred to as simply the "O R." It includes scanned images of reports, correspondence, seizures of Southern property, etc. sent to the War Dept. during the Civil War. It includes both Union and Confederate accounts. It is in chronological order but there is no online index. Many libraries have the index. Find the volume and page number for your subject in the index at the library. Go to this web site: http://library5.library.cornell.edu/moa/ and use their search engine to locate any or a part of these volumes.
