The New Rochelle Library has a number of city directories and yearbooks available to the researcher. However, for those who can't visit the library in person, Pat Connors has kindly shared with us some photocopies of pages of city directories which she has in her possession. These pages are from the 1901, 1903, 1905, 1910, and 1915 city directories and cover mainly the SMITH surname as well as a few other surnames found on the same pages.

The New Rochelle Press is available on microfilm at the New Rochelle Public Library for the years 1897 to 1907. The New York Public Research Library has most of the years of publication on microfilm.
New Rochelle Pioneer — Some copies are available online for free at Old Fulton Post Cards web site. Copies are also available on microfilm at the New Rochelle Public Library covering the years 1882 to 1919. A photograph of the former New Rochelle Pioneer building is shown at the right.
New Rochelle Paragraph — Some copies are available on microfilm at New Rochelle Public Library covering the years 1892 to 1919.
The New Rochelle Press — Some copies are available online for free at Old Fulton Post Cards web site.
New Rochelle Evening Standard — The New Rochelle Public Library has copies on microfilm covering the years 1909 to 1923.
Standard Star — Microfilmed copies of this newspaper for the years 1923 to 1998 are available at the New Rochelle Public Library. A photograph of the former Standard Star building is shown at right.
The Westchester County Anzeiger, a German-language paper, was issued from 1874. A single issue from that year is available at the New York Public Research Library.
Journal News — Over the years, many local newspapers have either been acquired by a larger conglomerate or gone out of business. The local newspaper for lower Westchester County today is the Journal News.
