Welcome to the GenWeb Project for the New Zealand regions of Hawke's Bay, East Coast and Wairarapa. The geographical area covered by this GenWeb project is approximately defined as being the land to the east of the Rimutaka, Tararua, Ruahine, Huiarau and Raukumara Ranges.

- MAY 2003 - A great deal of new material has been added in the last month and is available searching directly on the website. Thanks goes to Stephen Donald for the large amount of East Coast/Poverty Bay information he has provided. Work continues on transcribing the Hawke's Bay Herald, the Bush Advocate and the Hawke's Bay Weekly Times. As always, thanks to Elaine Mattsen for co-ordinating and transcribing for the newspaper project and to Lynette Towler, Jo Green and Judy for their transcriptions. Remember,we are always looking to add to our collections of town directories, electoral rolls, school and shipping information etc. Please contact me if you think you might have something of use to the project.
