DEATH - CARR On the 2nd August, aged 46, at the residence of Frederick F Ormond, Esq., Henry Ward, eldest son of the late Robert Lindow Carr Esq., formerly of Liverpool. The funeral will take place this day, the procession to leave the Church of St John the Evangelist at 3pm.

An inquest was held at Waipawa on the 4th inst by C R ENGLISH esq., coroner, on the body of James DICKSON, of Waipukurau who had been found the previous day in the Waipawa River. A verdict of drowning was returned.

The marriage of Miss Jane Susanna WHITAKER and her sister Miss Elizabeth Frederick WHITAKER, daughters of the Hon Frederick WHITAKER the previous day at 11am at St Pauls was reported. They were married to Simon ARMFELT Esq of HM 43rd Light Infantry and Charles Goring MINNITT Esq HM 18th Royal Irish respectively.
