DEATH - ORMOND At Wallingford, on the 2nd December, Caroline Jane, infant daughter of J D Ormond Esq., M H R, aged 3 months.

Report of a fire at the premises of FORD and McHARDY, Butchers. The cause of the fire was believed to be attributed to the carelessness of the lad who slept in the stables. Damage amounted to 300 pounds, only 50 pounds covered by insurance.

A sad end to the tenure of the 70th. Three members of the regiment were drowned while trans-shipping. They were Colour Sergeant FAHEY, Sergeant EASTWOOD and Private James WARRINGTON.
