Kapiti Branch New Zealand Society Of Genealogists Resources

We have reference material, publications, information booklets and newsletters, a small collection of CD-ROM's and an extensive microfiche collection (includes NZ BMD indexes ), in the Alison Procter Family History Center of the Paraparaumu Library on the first floor. Microfiche readers and PC's are available. Online access to ancestry.com, findmypast.com and the New Zealand Gazette Archive is available. The Public Library also has a small genealogy section together with copies of Electoral Rolls, early directories and other resource material.

These facilities are available to members during Library hours, click here for opening hours and details. Some resources are for reference only and others can be borrowed. Access is on presentation to the Information Desk on the ground floor of a current Kapiti Coast District Council (KCDC) Library membership card and Kapiti Branch NZSG card (light green 2009). You will then be required to sign in and collect an access key to the collection.

Now the collection has been catalogued, borrowing will be the same as taking out a public library book, by presenting your books at the checkout counter.

Each Wednesday from 10am to 12 noon, the Alison Procter Family History Centre is staffed by volunteers, who can assist you with your enquiries, non members welcome
