How to Join Us
The Waiheke Island Historical Society is always looking for new members. If you are interested, simply come along to the Waiheke Historical Museum, or ring one of our officers or the Museum itself (372-2970) during opening hours.
The membership subscription is only $15 per person per year. Membership entitles you to attend our monthly meetings and to vote and hold office in Society matters. We also encourage members to become active in the Society’s day-to-day affairs, in whatever manner they may feel competent:
- Staffing the Waiheke Historical Museum during its opening hours
- Help with accessioning newly donated materials
- Organising our monthly membership meetings and other membership events
- Planning and manning the Society’s booths at various markets and fairs
- Publicity and community relations
- Fundraising
- General maintenance and repairs to the Museum and its exhibits
