James Cookson McIntosh
1949 Jim's First Poem in N.Z.
Gore V Tapanui .303 at Whisky Gully
Gore came to Tap one day
They really came to shoot
But sad to say they lost their way
And all got on the scoot
Eventually they found our range
But listen to the 'rub'
They came round Waikaka way
And bought out half 'Times' pub
Gore won the first five hundred yards
By fifteen rums to seven
Then won the six hundred yards
By twelve fights to eleven
(There's more we can't remember)
