Helen A. Buchanan 

Helen A.  ( Scott ) Buchanan, 69, died at 7:07 p.m. March 8, 2008, at her residence. 
She was born March 21, 1938, in Lima to Steve and Jennie L. G o l d s m i t h Scott, who preceded her in death. On June 21, 1958, she married Warren E. Buchanan, who survives. 
   
M r s . Buchanan was a homemaker. She was a 1956 graduate of Lima Central High School. She was a member of Lima Baptist Temple and volunteered at St. Rita’s Medical Center. She loved to read. 
   
Survivors include a son, Scott S. (Kathleen) Buchanan, of Manteca, Calif.; two daughters, Dawn I. (Carl Lascelles) Irick, of Welland, Ontario, and Misty J. Buchanan, of Lima; three brothers, Perry S. Scot, of Lima, Alex S. Scott, of Lima and George S. (Betty) Scott, of Dayton; two sisters, Linda A. (Wayne) Yant, of Glendale, Ariz., and Mary J. Maxwell, of Lima; seven grandchildren, Maria Coon, Mat Coon, Nicole VanBuskirk, Stephen Buchanan, David Buchanan, Jennifer Irick and Christopher Irick; and a great-grandchild, Braydin VanBuskirk. 
   
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kelly D. Coon; four brothers, Daniel S., Jimmy S., Charles L. and Steve S. Scott; and a sister, Katherine Delph. 
   
Services will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Wayne Street Chapel. The Rev. Gary Hohman will officiate. Burial will be in Elida Greenlawn Cemetery. 
   
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
