LEO J. HAUNHORST
Leo J. Haunhorst, 79, of Lima, died at 8 p.m. Monday at his residence.
He was born March 15, 1927, in Landeck to Richard and Cordelia (Hotz) Haunhorst.
He married Hazel Haunhorst in 1982. She died in 1984.
Survivors include six children, Cheryl (George) McGuire of Elida, Christina
(Robert) Friedman of Lima, Barbara Haunhorst of Toledo, Michael (Kim) Haunhorst
of Columbus, Joy (Kevin) Wenning of Holland and David J. (Lisa) Haunhorst of
Anderson, Indiana; a stepdaughter, Peg (Allen) Graham of Woodhaven, Mich.; a
sister, Rita (Frank) Hesler of Lima; a brother, Eugene (Marcella) Haunhorst of
Paintsville; a sister-in-law, Edna Haunhorst of Delphos; 16 grandchildren, two
step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Velma Johnson; and two brothers, Urban and
Carl Haunhorst.
Mr. Haunhorst was a World War II U.S. Army vetean and was a retired truck driver
from Duff Truck Line, Inc.
Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at Siferd Funeral Home Westwood
Chapel, the Rev. Chad Gilligan officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park
Cemetery with gravesite rites by VFW Post 1275.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the funeral
home.
