She was born April 4, 1909, in Auglaize Township to George and Carrie Hefner Wilkins, who preceded her in death. On March 18, 1930, she married Lawrence Mason, who died March 24, 1975.Mrs. Mason was a homemaker. She was a member of Auglaize Bible Church. She was a 4-H adviser for several years, and she was a member of Happy Hour Garden Club. She was a 1928 graduate of Harrod High School. Survivors include three sons, Gene (Cathy) Mason of Cridersville, Raymond (Jean) Mason of Harrod and David (Betsy) Mason of Harrod; two daughters, Marilyn Goldsmith of Harrod and Betty Hutchison of Summerville, S.C.; 25 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Karl Neil Mason and Marion Mason; a son-in-law, Jack Goldsmith; two brothers, Ira and Dale Wilkins; a sister, Lillie Smith; two grandchildren, Thomas and Brandy Goldsmith; and two great-great-grandchildren. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday, at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes Lewis Chapel. The Rev. Roger Emerson will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Westminster Cemetery.Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to Harrod Fire and Rescue. "Geno" Mason,76, died at 1:25 p.m. May 30, 2008, at St. Rita's Medical Center.He was born June 15, 1931, in Harrod to Lawrence and Marie Wilkins Mason, who preceded him in death. On Aug. 19, 1989, he married Cathy L. Feister, who survives in Cridersville.Mr. Mason retired from National Group, where he had been the head of shipping and receiving. He was the former owner of G.A. Mason & Sons Milk Distributing. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was an avid Ohio State University football fan, and he enjoyed woodworking, gardening and cooking.Survivors also include six children, Larry D. (Genise) Mason, of Findlay, Roy G. (Myrna) Mason, of Arlington, Karla L. (O'Neal) Wireman, of Harrod, Lisa L. (Fred) Creech, of Wapakoneta, Brenda K. (Pete) Heuerman, of Lima, and Angie K. (Jeff) VanHorn, of Cridersville; four siblings, Marilyn Goldsmith, of Harrod, Betty Hutchison, of South Carolina, and Raymond (Jean) Mason and David (Betsy) Mason, both of Harrod, and 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by a brother, Karl Neal Mason.Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.
