Wednesday in Covington, O. Mrs. Snook, who had been in poor health for the past two years, had been seriously ill for seven months. Born in Beaverdam, Mrs. Snook had spent most of her life in Lima. Three years ago she moved to Covington. Besides her husband, who is in charge of a Covington cigar company, Mrs. Snook is survived by a son, Harold Snook of 421 S. Jack-st; wo daughters, Mrs. W. H. Fisher and Miss Ruth Snook, both of Lima; two sisters, Mrs. Arnold Combs of Lakeview and Mrs. Angie Hyde of Pittsburgh, Pa., and two brothers, Lewis Durkee of Beaverdam and Thomas Durkee of Russell Point. Mrs. Snook’s body has been taken to the Davis, Miller and Son mortuary. Funeral will be held at 3:30 p. m. Friday in the Davis, Miller and Son cathedral chapel. The Rev. S. M. Davidian will direct the service. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery. Waverly, Cridersville died at 3:10 p.m. Monday in St. Rita’s Hospital where she had been a patient for the last eight days. She had been a resident of Cridersville for the last nine years and was a member of the Cridersville EUB Church. Surviving are three step daughters, Mrs. Lillian Olendorf, Rt. 2, Lewisburg; Mrs. Freda Sweeney, Rt. 1, New Carlisle; a sister, Mrs. Irvin Fox, Rt. 6, Wapakoneta; two half brothers, Herbert and Abe Yant, both of Lima. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Bayliff Funeral Home, Cridersville, with the Rev. Paul Watson officiating and burial in St. Mathews Cemetery. Deceased was born, June 22nd, 1867, at Lafayette, Ohio. She had resided in Lima for many years, at 739 north Jefferson street, where she died. She leaves three children; Howard, Bessie and Alice and two step-children; Mrs. Maag and Alfred Stinebaugh to mourn her death. Funeral services have not been arranged. *********************************************************************** Lima News (Lima, Ohio) 15 April, 1939, Page 2 Eugene Black, 63, carpenter, died of complications at 5 a.m. Saturday in Memorial hospital after an illness of one year. Black, a native of Paulding-co, is survived by five sons, Norman, Kenneth, Orval, Wilbur and Paul; all of Lima; and two brothers, Lawrence Black of Mermill, and Elza Black, of Alaska Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Davis-Miller-and-Son funeral home with burial in Memorial Park cemetery. The body will remain at the funeral home until time of services.
