Researcher Dawn George has submitted a transcription of a diary from 1878 from her Great-great-great grandmother Clarissa BENNETT. Clarissa was married to Brice CUNNINGHAM.  While writing a good part of the diary she lived with her cousin Percilla ALSTETTER in Monroe Twp, Allen County. The diary covers the complete year of 1878 and a small portion of 1879, and graphically describes life in those times. It is interesting reading whether you have ancestral names mentioned or not. Much appreciation is offered to Dawn who performed the transcription. Note that the words and sentences are presented as spelled by Clarissa Bennett Cunningham. PHILLIPS, REYNOLDS, WILLIAMSON, WOOLLEY posted by Shari Horton on Wednesday, March 12, 2003

HELEN WILLIAMSON WOOLLEY m. to GAIL WOOLLEY. HELEN WILLIAMSON WOOLLEY was b. Bloomington, IL abt 1906. She died in Lima, OH, abt 1959-1961. Don't know if GAIL WOOLLEY died before Helen. They may have divorced, but am not sure. They had children GAIL JR., BETTY, BARBARA, AND BEVERLY. I know the daughters married in Lima. Barbara's husband worked for the Cadilac Casket Co (?). Think some of the children may still be alive, and living in Lima. Think GAIL WOOLLEY d. in late 1970's or early 1980's Am looking for an obit for HELEN WILLIAMSON WOOLLEY AND GAIL WOOLLEY. Parents of HELEN WILLIAMSON WOOLLEY were WILLIAM ALBERT WILLIAMSON AND SARAH REYNOLDS WILLIAMSON. Siblings appearing in obit for HELEN WILLIAMSON WOOLLEY might be DEWEY WILLIAMSON, ROY WILLIAMSON, AND EUNICE PHILLIPS, all of IL. GAIL WOOLLEY SR. ran for Sheriff, but do not remember if it was in Bloomington, IL, or Lima, OH. I believe that GAIL WOOLLEY SR was born and raised in OH. He was in the Army in WW 11. Have small picture of him dated 1942. US ARMY. GAIL WOOLLEY SR may have been involved in politics on a small scale. I am very interested in finding HELEN WILLIAMSON WOOLLEY, as she was my aunt, and a favorite one at that. After Aunt Helen died, and my mother's death, family lost contact.
