north of the junction of Route 744, nearest town is Jacksonburg which is
located on Route 744 and Jacksonburg Road, Butler County, Ohio. The cemetery
is in bad condition, some stones down, some completely illegible; some graves
have been mixed. Name Kelley was given to the cemetery because of the oldest
stone was Kelley. (The following inscriptions were copied by Mrs. Hazel
Stroup of Hamilton, Ohio, and printed by Robert D. Craig in "Butler County
Cemetery and Church Records," Volume I, Cincinnati, Ohio, 1962, pp.

C Huppi spoke with
Jeff Schenck, long time resident who lives nearby. Mr Schenck said that
family history/rumour is that some of the burials at this cemetery were moved
to the front of the “Elk Creek” Cemetery.
As an after thought- it is not clear if the cemetery he meant was the
“Pleasant Hill” cemetery on Elk Creek road in Madison Township or the “Elk
Creek” cemetery on 122 in Madison Township. |
