Jeffras Farm Cemetery

Primary Sources:  The1960’s  Stroup Inventories found in the Middletown Library  and V Shewalter’s  A History of Union Township Butler County Ohio- 1979,  pg 97.  Originally a farm burial ground and became the “Cemetery” for a Methodist Episcopal Church (1/2 acre in 1855).  The first burial is supposed to be a child of John McMaken Jr. (No references in local inventories).  It is thought that there are 30-35 burials though there are few readable tombstones and no burial records.

The cemetery is surrounded by homes.  Please consider residents privacy when visiting.  It appears that the cemetery was “cleared out” in 2001 but that the honeysuckle was not removed at the root and did not solve many problems
