Carroll County was formed on Christmas Day 1832
from its five neighboring counties
-- Stark,
Columbiana,
Jefferson, Harrison, and Tuscarawas.

was named after Charles Carroll, last
surviving signer of the Declaration of Independence. Originally,
Carrollton was called Centerville when it was
