John Layton, 89, died in his home at Hanoverton Thursday afternoon, November 29. He was a Civil war veteran and one of the oldest residents in this community. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Charles Cable and Mrs. John Miller, both of Minerva; 13 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Mrs. Rebecca Wolf, 86, died from the infirmities of old age at her home near Mineral City on Wednesday, November 28. Services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Reformed church in Mineral City by Rev. Rohrbaugh of New Bedford. Mrs. Wolf is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Henry Gsell and Mrs. Mary Dine, both of Mineral City.

Mrs. Sarah Watts, 63, died Friday, November 30, at her home in Morges. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Clarence Secrist, Mrs. Daniel Locker, both of Morges and Mrs. Gertrude Eddy of Akron; two sons, Charles of Morges and Robert of Lindentree. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist Episcopal church in Waynesburg with Rev. Dunn officiating. Interment was made in the Waynesburg cemetery.

Robert C. Jones, 58, of Canton, died suddenly Saturday morning from a heart attack. He was formerly a resident of Waynesburg. For many years he was a member of the Snavely-Jones undertaking company of Canton. He is survived by his wife, Katherine Elson Jones; one daughter, Pauline; and two sons, Robert C., Jr. and Charles D., all of Canton; two brothers, Dr. Clem R. Jones and Harry M. Jones, both of Pittsburgh. Funeral services were held at the home Monday afternoon with Rev. Birchard Brundage in charge and burial was made in the Waynesburg cemetery.

Dr. A. C. Ball, 66, born at Augusta and for more than thirty years a prominent physician and resident of Alliance, died at his home in that city Friday afternoon, November 30. For the past year he had been failing in health. The deceased was a graduate of the Western Reserve medical college, practicing medicine first at Hicksville, Kent and Dayton prior to locating in Alliance. He was noted as a leader in fraternalism; a member of the Masonic, Elk, Eagle and Moose orders, having served his local Masonic and Elk lodges as their highest official. He was well known as a speaker at various fraternal gatherings. Dr. Ball was also identified with the Presbyterian church. A widow and step-son, of Alliance; a sister-in-law and three nieces, residing at Kent, survive. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon from the Alliance Masonic temple, with the order in charge.

Mrs. John Blausenhauer, 62, died early Sunday morning at her home on Sterling-ave. She was born October 2, 1866, in the Rhein Providence in Germany and emigrated to this country at the age of twenty-three. She first took up her residence in East Liverpool and later, in 1904, she came to Carrollton. In 1890 the deceased was united in marriage to John Blausenhauer, who survives together with a brother living in Germany; a sister in San Antonio, Texas; and ten children, Mrs. Frank Zimmerman of Canton, Mrs. Ray Sheldon of Industry, Pa., Mrs. Lawrence Workman of Canton, Mrs. William Weekly of Scio, Mrs. Arthur Mann of Carrollton, Otto of Mineral City, Victor of Brooklyn, N. Y., Leo of Canton, Carol of Carrollton and Elizabeth of the home. Eighteen grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Lutheran church with Rev. Earl Stainbrook officiating. Burial was made in Grandview.
