1839 COMMON PLEAS JOURNAL

Journal of Common Pleas of the County of Crawford and State of Ohio, located at Crawford County Court House, Bucyrus, Ohio.

This material from Volume 2 -

(Your editor, Mary Fox, felt that the need to get these records to researchers was so great, that she went to the vault with two doors, sized like a small room, dust from 1839, or earlier and began writing. On two different occasions, the employees almost forgot I was in there and were going to lock the vault! Perhaps it would have been just as well, however, I'm pleading with you, please make sure my death record reads "cause of death - - researching!)

Please do not write that office for records, they do not search and I don't want to loose my foothold in gaining material. I have not yet found Volume I. I use abbreviations: C.C.O. for Crawford Co. Ohio; dec. for deceased; adm. for administrator or (trix) if female.

I hope these abstracts help you prove items for your research. m.f.

(Bear in mind the spelling lends to the old German script in appearance (&) is is often hard to read, sometimes it is mispelled and later the same case appears with different spellings. Also, I did not continue to write down the names of the Judges and who served on the grand jury, There were Tavern License applications, that sometimes later were for re-applied and some were new, occasionally, I did not add them - AT LAST THE RECORDS!)
