  • PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

We are pleased to announce the Ohio Genealogical Society Fellows and Awards Committee has awarded the following AWARDS to the Crawford County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society over the years:

The awards were given at the various OGS Conventions held annually in April. These awards represent hours of work by the recipients and the Chapter is proud of the awards received. We also received several gifts for the Chapter, from The Bucyrus Area Community Foundation, Box 387, Bucyrus OH 44820. They receive requests from other non-profit organizations for large amounts every year and were able to fund some of requests each year. Our Chapter has been privileged to have been granted funds to purchase various equipment for producing our new books and the newsletters and to save hours of time entering records manually. We feel honored to have our requests granted and we are thankful to The Bucyrus Community Foundation for their continuing support of our requests each year. Remember, keep purchasing books. We are thankful for your support.
    Mary FOX, President

BOOKS: They are a responsibility in many ways, ALL the volunteer hours of getting them ready to print, then the GREAT problem of storage. We've had to move from TWO downtown spaces because the building was sold. We are LUCKY that THE PELICAN HOUSE has agreed to let us store some our books with them for easy access to visitors touring Bucyrus. WON'T YOU STOP AND PURCHASE A BOOK AT THE PELICAN HOUSE, AND WHILE YOU ARE THERE, SUPPORT THEM BY GETTING SOME COFFEE OR SOME OF THE OTHER GOOD THINGS TO EAT THERE.

For members who do not live here, won't you please consider making a book purchase? We need to reduce our inventory as much as possible. We use money received from the book sales as seed money to publish new books.

MEMBERSHIP SUPPORT . We are grateful to the members who sent in Sustaining Dues and Donations. This is over and above regular membership dues. This money goes toward keeping our yearly expenses paid - THANK YOU KINDLY.

PLEASE continue to send in your membership renewals if you want to receive the entire (eight) year's issues. There's lots of good stuff every issue and something in it may contribute to your research!

Again, thank you everyone for the help you've given to our Chapter. WHAT A GROUP!

    Mary FOX, President
