Patriots Day Event 2005
Nineteen miles from Boston along the old Lexington Road, Concord
became the first battleground of the American Revolution, as Yankee militiamen alerted by Paul Revere, routed British troops at the
Old North Bridge on April 19th, 1775.
Patriotic ceremonies were held April 19th, 2005 in Newport Kentucky at the World Peace Bell commemorating the 230th anniversary of "the shot heard 'round the world". Proclamations were presented by Newport City officials, the Cincinnati Chapter SAR, the Cincinnati Chapter DAR, and the Fort Washington CAR. Many thanks to the City of Newport, our Master of Ceremonies Compatriot Harry Geimeier and our Nolan Carson
Memorial Color Guard.
