Cleveland City Cemetery Index

Welcome! This project was organized by East Cuyahoga County Genealogical Society, Vicki Vigil, Project Director and Cynthia Turk Consultant. It began with the kind support of the City of Cleveland, specifically Department of Parks Recreation, and Properties, with assistance from Mr. David Mitchell, and numerous staff members from various departments. We thank Cleveland District Round Table and its host, Rootsweb, for allowing us use of this web site, at least temporarily, during the production phases. Upon completion it may move or copy to the City of Cleveland website. The indexing is also being submitted for inclusion in the FamilySearch Indexing system. We are also indebted to Norm Henke and Jerry Kliot for all the preparation and assistance over several years while we were coordinating the project. Their time and expertise is greatly appreciated. The images for this web site were created by the FamilySearch Imaging Team. Indexing is being done by members of the East Cuyahoga County Genealogical Society and many others in the Cleveland area and elsewhere who share a common interest. The Interment Registers from the City of Cleveland Owned Cemeteries have been included from the beginning of the records to the mid 1990s when the records began to be computerized. Therefore, being new, Cleveland Memorial Gardens will not be included. The cemeteries will be posted as they are completed. At the end of the project, a complete alphabetical index will be made. Until then, the cemeteries must be searched individually.
