POINT (Pursuing Our Italian Names Together,) Cleveland PIP

2014- The group is now called CIAO (Cleveland Italian Ancestry Organization).

Cleveland, Ohio PIP (Pointers in Person) is in the organization phase of becoming a PIP, similar to a chapter, of the POINT national organization.

POINT was created by Dr. Tom Militello from California in 1987. It is the largest network of Italian family historians in the world with over 5,100 members, who eagerly share their knowledge and expertise in Italian genealogy with one another. POINT publishes a quarterly journal that covers a range of topics from tips on genealogy problems to sharing one's family history stories. POINT chapters are called PIP, which stands for POINTers In Person. Currently, there are twenty-eight active and inactive PIP chapters around the country. The newly forming Cleveland chapter will be number twenty-nine.

Meetings: Saturdays every other month, various locations. Guests welcome.
