Mary McKee Limes, wife of Harmon Limes Jr.

Harmon Limes, Jr. was buried at the Friends (Quaker) Cemetery, in North Lewisburg. However, his wife moved away after his death and became a "lost resident" of Champaign County. She then resided with one of their sons, Joseph Limes, in Marion County, Iowa until her death.

Per transcriptions of a now missing Limes family Bible, Mary died 12 May 1864. She was buried in the Indiana Chapel Cemetery near Attica, Marion County, Iowa.

The older stone reading I have lists row 38 where Mary and her grandchildren were buried with Mary's date of death as "12 May 1861".

Harmon and Mary Limes were listed in the 1860 US Federal Census as residing in the Town of Lewisburg in Champaign County, Ohio. Harmon is listed as age 68 and Mary as age 53. (However, that would be incorrect for Mary as they were married in 1813 in Frederick County, Virginia.) His occupation was boot and shoemaker. Value of real estate $500.00, and value of the personal estate was $300.00. Birthplace for both lists Virginia.
