I am searching for the family of Charles Henry Dolsen/Dolson. I know that he attended school at North Secondary in Champaign co. Urbana. in 1884 and 1886. I also know that he married Emma Arka Ream in 1902. They had a daughter named Evelyn Opal on Sept. 26, 1905. Charles died in 1906, presumably in Urbana? I've seen a 1880 census for Urbana city which listed a Dolsen family, head was J. Henry Dolsen age 34, wife Mary H., son James, son Howard, son Johannes. Johannes was the correct age, but the name obviously is not. Anybody with info, please respond.

My great-grandfather Samuel Clark died in a farming accident on the Blue Brothers farm on June 5, 1935 when he is said to have fallen into the bailer while making hay. I found his death certificate issued in Clark County. He is said to have come to the Urbana Ohio area after having been released from prison in Illinois. His wife, Dixie Belle, was allegedly living on the Blue farm while Samuel was in prison for robbery. After his death Dixie Belle lived with Walter Blue by whom she had a son Raymond who was born in 1929. All of that has the makings of a good mystery. If anyone can shed some light on the CLARK - BLUE story I'd appreciate it. There HAS to be a newpaper article or two. My great-uncle Melvin claimed that the bailer was "sealed for a year" while the circumstances of the death were investigated.

John Henry Evans and Mary Elizabeth Glenn were married on 9 Nov 1841. She was from Urbana and an abstract said that he was from Vicksburg or Vicksburgh. Was there such a place near Urbana or anywhere in Ohio? Could it have been a military encampment???

I am seeking information on my great grand uncle, Elisha Albert Coffman and his descendents. I believe that his family would have been living in Mad River Township in the 1850's on. Elisha A. was born, as were all his siblings, in the Luray/Massanutten area of the Shenandoah of Virginia. A younger brother, David J. Coffman may also have lived in the area after his service for the Confederacy in the Civil War.

I am searching for information about a Parker Bryan that was listed as a First Family Settler, in 1821, in Champaign County, Ohio. I would like any information on any Bryan family in the county, that might lead me to this family. His paents might have been Elexander and Martha (Holt) Bryan born in Ireland. His wife might have been a Malinda Callaway, daughter of Calvin and Cynthia Callaway. And their child William Vincent Bryan. These are family tradition facts that have not yet been proven.

The 1830 census for Jackson Township (pg. 26, line 19) includes the Crawford Staples family. It is believed that this is the family of Crawford Staples, b. 7 Feb 1792 in Frankfort (now Stockton Springs), Maine and Mariam Anderson, b. 22 Jan 1802. They married in Licking Co. 1 May 1822. Where would one start when looking for birth records of this family. County? Town?
