He was a clerk for the New York Central Railroad for 40 years, retiring in 1969. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Beech Grove, where he was treasurer for 35 years. He was born march 24, 1917 in Old Town, Ohio, the son of Howard and Alice (FINNEY) BEATTY and resided in Springfield, Xenia, Fairborn area most of his life. He was a self-employed dairy farmer for 55 years. He was a member of the American Jersey Cattle Club, the Ohio Jersey Cattle Club and was a director of District 9 Miami Valley Jersey Breeders Association. Mr. Beatty spent 6 years as a Greene County Sheriff Deputy and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Fairborn Lodge Number 2641. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Ann (HARDING) BEATTY, Xenia; two step-daughters, Debra WENTZ, Dayton and Tara SAMMONS, Fairborn; two foster children, Dale TAYLOR and Marilyn TAYLOR, both of Xenia; one step-grandson, Rod SMITH, Xenia; one sister, Mrs. C. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jessie Mae in 1973. He was a member of the Borden Quarter Century Club and Elderly United of Springfield, also attended Salvation Army Citadel. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Jean) WILDMAN of Springfield; two grandchildren, Andrew and Amy WILDMAN; his mother, Zelma BUSCH of Sylvester, West Virginia.
