The cemetery is kept mowed,
but we spent many Saturdays just pulling up stones buried in the earth.
This cemetery took a lot of time
because of the buried stones and there was a lot of prep work before we
could begin our photos because
of the amount of stones. Many Revolutionary soldiers buried there. I
believe the lost stones are buried-- as
the last few we found were 10-12 inches under the sod. They may be
located in the brush covered woods
or towards the small gulley to the right of the cemetery (if you are
standing on the road). Thats where I
found a few buried very deep. Most of the lost fieldstones were just
eroded.
