I am looking for my maternal grandparents, Lewis MATSON and Eliza (Elsie Phoebe) CONKLIN. I believe they were born in Port William, Clinton Co. Ohio. His parents were Everly MATSON and Ella KAHILL. My grandmother's sister, lived on a farm in Clinton Co., maybe near Winchester. She had two children, James WICAL and Dorothy Wical. If any of this sounds familiar to anyone, I will be looking forward to hearing from you. .

I don't know a lot about my Daniel BORING, except that he married 21 June 1852 in Clinton Co OH Marthula Ann McNEAL. He wrote his own obituary and put it in his Bible, according to the newspaper article, and it shows he was the son of Nicodemus and Mary BORING and was born in 1818 in Marietta Co OH. His father was supposed to have died when he was young and he lived with relatives until going out on his own, however, someone told me that Nicodemus appears on the census after the time Daniel says he died. .

Thought this may be of interest to persons researching Pitzer in Clinton Co.,Ohio. I have a Carey KIZER who married Mary Ann PITZER in 1842 in Clinton Co. Mary Ann apparently died young as Carey KIZER was in Howard Co., IN in 1850 with no wife. He went on to Missouri and Kansas but came back to Ohio in about 1868. In 1888, where he is a resident of Highland Co. and applies for an increase in his Civil War pension. One of the witnesses is a George PHISTER. They lived at Lynchburg on the Clinton/Highland Co. line. .
