20 Oct 2000 Nick DEMETRION Note: I distinctly remember him (Theodore) because he worked for Kavouras at his restaurant/bar on Woodlawn and Crawford.  He always talked to me in Greek, but he would converse with my mother and father in Turkish.  My mother said that he did not speak Greek well

31 May 2007Nick D Note: Theodore worked at the Kavouras restaurant on Crawford Street. think the cross street was Woodlawn (I'm about 90% sure).  I could take you there because the streets are perfectly clear in my mind; the names are fuzzy.  Pete Kavouras sold the restaurant in 1946 when George and I were juniors in high school.  I never went back to the restaurant after the restaurant was sold, so I do not know what happened to Theodore.

21 Jan 2009 George Christy: A couple of years later, he worked as a waiter at the Reckman & Dickerson Saloon on Central Ave near the Family theatre and Big-4 rail tracks.
  I was with my dad one time when he needed to give Theo a message. We went first to the Saloon to find he was off duty, then to his apartment above the saloon.
 I remember it was a walk-up apartment and he was a hefty man. The thing I remember most was his disposition – he always had a smile on his face, something I rarely saw among his peers.

Source Message from Jim Demetrion Tom's and Susie's son:
1. Anna from Canton's married surname is Manos.
2. Her maiden name is Dimetriou -- note position of the i and the e and also that it ends in a u.
3. Her (my) grandfather's surname is Demetriou; it was so recorded when they arrived in this country.
4. You would think that her father's (my Uncle Bill) surname and his father's surname would be the same, right? Somewhere along the line, that 2nd letter got changed, but we don't know where or when or what the circumstances were.

SIDELIGHT: I have a report card of my mother's from an elementary school that no longer exists where the name on the card is "Susie Etna" and it's signed by my grandfather. For a while I wondered if this was a card of one of my mom's schoolmates that she ended up with somehow. But my hunch is mom said Susannah when asked about her name and it got put down as Susie Etna.

    Catherine Demostenes Tsakeris,  age 77, of Surfside Beach, S.C., died Thursday, Nov. 27,2003, in Middletown.. Catherine was born Nov. 24, 1926, in Athens, Ohio. She worked as a secretary at Armco Steel Co. for 30 years before retiring in 1990.She was preceded in death by her parents, Strates and Anna Demostenes.
    She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Stan Tsakeris; two sons, Thomas M. (Vivian) Tsakeris of Rockville, Md. and John A. Tsakeris of Middletown; six grandchildren, Brad, Stephanie, Elizabeth, John Michael, Grace and Nicholas; a brother, Paul Demostenes of Middletown; a sister, Ann "Bake" Kioutsikides of California; and several nieces and nephews.
    ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 2500 Grand Ave. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Baker-Stevens Funeral Home.
Burial will be at Woodside Cemetery. MEMORIALS: Memorial contributions may be made to Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 2500 Grand Ave., Middletown, Ohio, 45044.
