    Bernice W. COMBS Allen, 96, formerly of Hamilton, passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2004, in the Middletown Regional Hospital.
    She was born on Jan. 28, 1908, in Manchester, [Clay County], Ky., the daughter of Marion and Alice (Hoskins) Combs.
    She received her education in the Kentucky public schools. On June 16, 1928, she married Edwin Kash Allen in Hamilton, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 1976. Mrs. Allen joined the First Baptist Church in 1932, and had been a member for 72 years.
    She was a devoted wife, caring mother, enjoyed gardening, and was a very giving person. She had also been employed by the Champion Paper Co., and the ammunition factory at Kings Mills during World War II.
    Mrs. Allen is survived by her children: David M. Allen and his wife Brenda of Middletown; Darrell R. Allen and his wife Pennie of Hamilton, Constance S. Taylor of Hamilton, and Edward K. Allen and his wife Marian of Hamilton; and six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers: Oscar, Cloyd, and Obel Combs, and a sister, Cleo Rogers.
    ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Monday, March 29, at the Webb Noonan Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South D Street, with Dennis M. Metzger officiating. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Billie ALLEN, age 77, of Middletown, died Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Morgan County, Kentucky on October 7, 1928 to parents Dewey and Gertrude (Gullett) Allen. Billie was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked for the Sunshine Biscuit Company for more than 30 years, retiring in 1986. He loved spending time with his family, playing cards, and bluegrass music. Mr. Allen is survived by his wife of 25 years, Jylonda (Russell) Allen; his daughter, Treva Carroll, and her husband Mark, of Middletown; grandson, Alan Carroll of Middletown; and special niece Cathy Phillips and family of Farmersville; He is also survived by sons, Billy Allen, Mike Allen, and Jerry Allen; and daughter, Pam Woosley, all of Kentucky; two brothers, Raleigh Allen and Alex Allen, both of Kentucky; grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Richard Allen, Cartie Allen, Gene Allen, Lonnie Allen, and Murph Allen. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 29, 2006 at 12:00 Noon at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown, with Pastor Henry Clay Coldwell officiating. Visitation will be Friday, from 6-8 PM at the funeral home and Saturday, one hour prior to the service, from 11:00 - 12:00 Noon. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park with military honors conducted by American Legion Post 218.

Rev. Elzie ALLEN
, age 74 of Middletown, Ohio passed away Monday, December 4, 2006 at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born December 17, 1931 in Breathitt County, Kentucky. Elzie served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Elzie was the pastor at Pentecostal Deliverance Church and The House of Prayer. He was a set-up man for 37 years at Raymond Bag/Champion Paper Company retiring in 1986. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geniveve Allen in 1993; father and stepmother, Edgar and EvaLee Allen; son, Paul Timothy Allen; brothers, Charles and Herbert Allen; sister, Mary Collett. He is survived by his daughters, Anita Gail Lehman (Rick) of Beavercreek, OH and Regina Lynn Eckart (Dennis) of Middletown, OH; grandchildren, Brandon, Marissa, Hailey and Luke; brothers, Willie Allen of Whitesburg, KY, Junior Allen of Jackson, KY and Lee Allen of Campton, KY; sisters, Irene Overbee of Richmond, KY, Pauline Nelson of Litchfield, KY, Adien Stevens of Peebles, OH and Phyllis Wall of Richmond, KY. Visitation will be Thursday, December 7, 2006 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Baker-Stevens Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Friday, December 8, 2006 at 10:00 am at Baker-Stevens Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Houston and Rev. Walter Lamb officiating. Elizabeth ''Lizzie'' ALLEN, age 91, of Franklin, OH passed away Sunday, March 26, 2006 at Sycamore Hospital. Lizzie was born in McKee, KY on August 22, 1914 to George and Julie (Hillard) Hurley. She was preceded in death by her husband Freely Allen in 1974; 3 brothers, Thomas, Howard, and John Hurley; 4 sisters, Rose Hemmingson, Betty Angel, Lucinda Angel, and Mary Catherine King. Lizzie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who gave of her self unselfishly. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Middletown. Surviving are a son Wesley H. Allen and wife Cheryl of Kettering; a daughter Dorothy Carolyn Bobst of Franklin; 1 granddaughter Lori Swagler of Hamilton; 5 great grandchildren, William Gene Russell, Erica Ruark, Samantha, Connor, and Chris Swagler; a sister Clara Wolfe of Centerville; a sister-in-law Ruby Hurley of Middletown; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are Thursday, March 30, 2006 at 10am at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. 2nd St., Franklin, OH with Rev. Robert Armstrong and Rev Travis Hudson officiating. Burial will be in Miami Valley Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Jane G. ALLEN, Age 71, of Middletown, Ohio passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at 2:25 a.m. at her residence. She was born September 11, 1935 in Lancaster, Kentucky and lived in Middletown since 1948. She graduated from Middletown High School in 1954. She attended Meadowlawn First Church of God and Poasttown First Church of God. She volunteered for the Middletown Senior Citizens. She was preceded in death by parents, Edward and Geneva (Lackey) Teater; sister-in-law, Betty Teater. She is survived by husband of 51 years, Aubrey Allen; 3 children, Kenneth Allen, wife Marlene Middletown, Ohio, Brad Allen, wife Lois Middletown, Ohio, Kevin Allen, wife Dawn Middletown, Ohio; 5 grandchildren, David Allen, Zachary Allen, Matt Allen, Renee Allen and Jonathan Carlson Allen; 5 great grandchildren; 1 brother, James R. Thelma (Wells) ALLEN, Apr. 16, 1916 - Nov. 2, 2010 At age of 94 our sister Thelma went to be with her loved ones. She was born in KY to John Amos and Stella (Nickell) Wells. She had lived in Nashville, TN several years with family. Previously she had lived in Florida. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Clifford Allen, grandson John Riley, 2 brothers, Elwood (Red) Wells, Elbert Wells and sister Erma Berry. Survivors include 3 daughters, Faye (Tom) Riley, Carole (Roger) Costa of Nashville, TN and Denise Travers of Titusville, FL, 2 granddaughters and 1 grandson. 2 sisters, Linda (Gene) Cole of Middletown, Jewell Blanton (Al) Spicer of Grove City, OH, 2 brothers, Loren (Barb) Wells of Middletown, Norvin (Myrtle) Wells of Tipp City. Services are at North Brevard Funeral Home in Titusville, FL. Visitation is from 1:00 to 3:00 PM with funeral at 3:00 PM. Burial at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in FL on Friday, Nov. 5th.
