James "Jim" B. BUCHANAN, age 88 of Corwin passed away Monday, January 23, 2006 at Hospice of Dayton. Born June 7, 1917 to William and Lura Buchanan in Stillwater, Kentucky. Jim retired from GM in 1972 after 27 years of service and greatly enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, making candy, and quilting. He was preceded in death by one son, Clay, and three brothers Carl, Charlie and John Buchanan. He is survived by his wife Jean, married 54 years; two sons and daughters-in-law, Millard and Marietta Buchanan of Wilmington, and Robert and Gretchen Buchanan of Waynesville; daughter and son-in-law Beverly and Robert Ruse of Waynesville; daughter- in-law Vivian Buchanan of Waynesville; five grandchildren, Philip and Craig Ruse, Nathan and Ian Buchanan, and April Litsey; three great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Jacob, and Claire; and three sisters, Ruth Whitney of Kettering, Mary Campbell of Waynesville, and Dr. Esther and her husband Ronald Bohuslov of Louisiana. Funeral services 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 27 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville. Pastors Jim Coffman, Darrell Rose, and Beverly Turner officiating. Burial Miami Cemetery, Corwin. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. If desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton. |
