Gladys (nee Combs) BURNS, age 79 of Lebanon passed peacefully Sunday, October 23, 2011 at her home with her family by her side. Born November 2, 1931 in Owsley County, Ky., Gladys was the daughter of John and Loucinda (Reynolds) Combs and a loving a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and a devoted member of the Dodds Pentecostal Church. Preceded in death by her parents, five brothers Everett, Harlan, Hayden, Stanley and Meredeth Combs, two sisters Mary and Rosa and great-grandson Tyler L. Bailey; Gladys leaves behind her loving husband of 65 years Seldon Burns of Lebanon, Ohio; son Donald (Judy) Burns, daughters Mary (Ritchie) Hines and Brenda Sue (Jerry) Short; sister Ruby Money; grandchildren Donnie L. Burns, Jeremy Short, D. Michelle Retallick-Barnett and Jennifer A. Bailey; seventeen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home with Pastor Rex Lloyd officiating. Burial was in the Deerfield Cemetery in South Lebanon.
