Businessman turned pastor dies in Lebanon
Gary Damron
LEBANON - The Rev. Gary "Bob" Damron, associate
pastor of the Oregonia Church of God and former executive of Progressive
Technology in Lebanon and Progressive Paper Products in Carlisle, died
Saturday at Kettering Medical Center after a long illness.
The Rev. Damron, 42, of Catherine Ave., was associate pastor
of the Oregonia Church of God for the past six years. He had also worked
for Warren County Community services.
A graduate of Moorehead University, he taught school in the Lebanon,
Little Miami and Lakota systems before entering the field of industry.
He served as vice president of Progressive Technology in
Lebanon's Harmon Park until he became ill five years ago. He had also
served as vice president and general manager of Progressive Paper Products
in Carlisle.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Baldwin Damron; a son
Scott, at home; a daughter, Miss Dana Marie Damron, at home; and three
brothers, Steve, Phil and Jeff, all of Kentucky.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Unglesby-Anderson
Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Revs. Orville Robinson, Tim Sheets and
Ted Shannon officiating.
Burial will be at Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Ridgeville.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday,
and from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday.
