Loretta FRANKLIN, age 82
, of Fairfield, Ohio died Saturday December 12, 2009 at 2:35 a.m. at Westover Retirement Community in Hamilton, Ohio. She was born on March 14, 1927 in Clay County, Kentucky the daughter of Robert and Ethel (Asher) Woods. She was educated in the Kentucky and Maryland public schools. In 1956 she married Denver Franklin and he preceded her in death in 1977. Denver and Loretta were one of the Founding Families of the City of Fairfield. Loretta was a Kentucky Colonel, owner of the Townhouse Restaurant, then in 1961 Denver and Loretta were the founding owners and operators of Delta Pipeline Contractors. She is survived by her loving daughter and caregiver Darlene Franklin Householder of Fairfield and son John A. (Karen) Franklin of Florida; 2 grandchildren Jonathan Franklin and Eric Franklin; sister Virginia (Ralph) Brown-Starr; brothers Robert A. (Myrtle) Woods and Robert C. (Neeva) Woods; also survived by many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Denver, sister Sarah E. Woods and brother Robert B. Woods. A Celebration of Loretta's Life and Funeral will be Tuesday December 15, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Paul R. Young Funeral Home 3950 Pleasant Ave. Hamilton, Ohio, with Rev. Dr. William Jones, officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. (noon) until time of services at the funeral home. Remembrances may be sent to the One Way Farm. Darlene and John wish to extend her heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff at Westover Retirement Community.
