Clyde Ervin GIBBS
, age 79, of Fort Wayne, died Monday, 24, 2006, at Glenbrook Rehab. Born March 13, 1927, in Mount Sterling, Ky., he was the son of Kelly A. Gibbs and Mildred (Hatton). He served in the Army and was worked at Kline Security Services as a security guard and for seven years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of American Legion Post 82. Surviving are sons, Mike (Pam) Gibbs, Greg (Cindy) Gibbs, Hal (Sendy) Gibbs, Dana (Sue) Gibbs and Rodney (Anna) Gibbs; daughter, Lynn Valdez; sisters, Christine (Virgel) Norvell, Beulah Knott, Bethal Huff and Dorothy (Gene) Wilson; brother, Don Gibbs; 21 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brother, Clearance Gibbs. Service is 1 p.m. Thursday at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 Wells St., with calling one hour prior to service. Pastor Truman Smith a officiating. Calling also from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial in Woodside Cemetery, Middletown, Ohio, with service at 1 p.m. Friday at the cemetery.
