Beulah (Morgan) GODBEY, 88, of Fairfield, Ohio went home to heaven on Sunday, January 2, 2011. She was at home surrounded by her family as they surrendered her from their loving arms to the arms of her Lord. Her loving husband of 69 years, William W. Godbey, preceded her in death on December 15, 2010. She is survived by her loving daughters and son-in-law, Rayetta Murphy, Bernetta (Gene) Mize, cherished grandchildren Denise Hale, Christa (Will) Hughes, Paige (Ken) Heitfield and dear great-grandsons Austin Hale and Harrison Heitfield. Beulah was born on October 4, 1922 in Casey County Kentucky, the daughter of the late Virgil and Mattie (Surber) Morgan. Beulah married William W. Godbey on October 11, 1941 in Liberty, Ky. She and Bill farmed in Henry County, Ky. until they moved to Hamilton, Ohio in 1956. Beulah was employed at Mercy Hospital as a nurse aide until she retired in 1985. She accepted Christ as her Savior in 1936 and served Him as a member of Mt. Olive Christian Church and Point Pleasant Christian Church for 24 years, North Seventh St. Church of Christ in Hamilton for 27 years, and Fairfield Church of Christ for the last 27 years. Her Christian legacy and fine example of family dedication will live on through her children and grandchildren. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and special friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Godbey; parents, Virgil and Mattie (Surber) Morgan; brothers, Earnie Morgan, Delbert Morgan, Alvin Morgan, Boyd Morgan and Oral Morgan; sisters, Gertie Greer, Mertie Hamilton, Myrtle Godsey and granddaughter, Jennifer Casey Murphy. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Christopher Meier and Hospice of Cincinnati for their loving care and support. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati, 4360 Cooper Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio, 45242. Friends and family may celebrate her life by joining together on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Avance Funeral Home, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield, Ohio from 5:00-7:00 pm. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 11:00 am with Dave Hargrave officiating. Final resting place will be at Rose Hill Burial Park, Hamilton.
