December 17, 2009 Western Star, Lebanon, Ohio
James D. Jim HORNSBY,
63 of Morrow and formerly of South Lebanon passed peacefully
following a long illness at the Pine Crest Nursing Center in Morrow.
Born May 16, 1946 in Oneida, Ky., the
son of James and Minnie (Wyrick) Hornsby, he worked for many
years as a welder at the Ohio Department of Transportation. A proud
Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era, he was a Past Post commander of the
Lebanon VFW Post 6069 and he enjoyed fishing. Preceded in death by his
father and brother Ralph Hornsby, he is survived by his devoted wife
Helen (Dennis) Hornsby of Blanchester, mother Minnie Hornsby of West
Chester, sons Dennis Shivener of W. Carrollton and Dale (Danielle)
Shivener of Springboro, daughters Denise (Doug) Smith of Blanchester,
Dina (Donald) Boitnott of Martinsville and Diana Hornsby of Morrow,
brothers Bobby of Clarksville and Ronald Hornsby of Ky, fourteen
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Visitation and funeral
service was held on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at the Stine & Kilburn
Funeral Home, Lebanon Burial was in the Deerfield Cemetery, South
Lebanon with military honors by the Lebanon VFW Memorial team.
